Quick answer
A power failure during a cycle puts PF on the display of Whirlpool front load and top load washers.
Model note: Whirlpool reuses codes across series and model years, so PF may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.

What this codemay mean.
A plain-language reading of the code — always confirm against your model’s documentation.
Mean
A power failure interrupted the wash cycle.
Did the power drop mid-wash? Whirlpool front load and top load washers both display PF to report a power failure during operation.
Restarting by washer type
Front load: certain models allow you to hit Start and finish the cycle. With others, hit Cancel and run the washing machine again from the start.
Top load: the wash cycle was cut short by the failure. Touch and hold START to pick the cycle back up, or press POWER to wipe the display.
