Quick answer
FCE1: the appliance could not connect to the router. Reset appliance power and router, and improve the signal if it is weak.
Model note: Whirlpool reuses codes across series and model years, so FCE1 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.

What this codemay mean.
A plain-language reading of the code — always confirm against your model’s documentation.
Mean
The appliance could not connect to the router.
FCE1 in short
Over-the-range microwaves and ranges display FCE1 if the appliance could not connect to the router. Listed in the manual: connection time out, poor signal strength, a failed router, the Wi-Fi Module in the appliance, or the associated wiring.
Work through these
Cut the appliance breaker for 1 minute, restore it, and give it a minute on screen. Then verify operation.
Reset the router. The Wi-Fi Module has no link to it.
Try a second Wi-Fi capable device, then carry your phone or tablet to where the appliance sits.
If so, pull router power for 2 minutes and restore it, then pull appliance power for 2 minutes and restore that too.
Signal not strong?
Relocate the router in your home.
Add a compatible signal extender.
Ask your Internet Service Provider.
Compare
FCE8 is listed with reset steps only; FCE7 talks about a router that was not connected.
