Quick answer
F3E2 on Whirlpool dryers: the moisture sensor message, three owner checks and the laundry tower variant.
Model note: Whirlpool reuses codes across series and model years, so F3E2 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.

What this codemay mean.
A plain-language reading of the code — always confirm against your model’s documentation.
Mean
F3E2 is a moisture sensor issue shown after five consecutive loads dry without moisture sensor data.
A moisture sensor issue is behind F3E2 on Whirlpool dryers and commercial-grade residential dryers: five loads in a row were dried and no moisture sensor data registered.
Owner checks from the manual
Press the Power button. This clears F3E2 and lets you restart the machine.
Confirm the dryer is level. An unlevel machine may stop clothes making proper contact with the sensors in the drum. Adjust the dryer feet, measuring from the cabinet edge if the top is curved.
Think about the load. Very small loads or single items may miss the sensors, so try bigger loads and an Automatic cycle in place of Timed Dry.
If it persists, power cycle
Switch the breaker or breakers off for one minute and back on, run a Timed Dry cycle, and watch the dryer for a further minute. A returning code means it is time to call for service.
Stacked laundry towers
The tower entry reads differently: the potential cause is a pressure sensor switch, in both the dryer and washer sections. Disconnect power for one minute (dryer) or 5 minutes (washer), then schedule service if F3E2 returns.
